Flourishwick
Clothing styles: Early American settlers style with tribal accessories depending on the region they are from (See region for style)
Political structure: Republic; President Ursa Sylph.
City life: No fire allowed here! The capital city is named the City of Florishwick. In rainforests, the buildings a built around the trees using the inner branches as supports. The base of the buildings are made with sturdier construction like rocks and pangolin scales. As it goes up, it’s made with lighter the construction materials: woods, bone, leather, and layered palm leaves as a roof. The style of these buildings is a crude rectangle shape that gets smaller near the top.
Elevators are powered by muscular dogs in a hamster wheel trained to run. There are different packs of dogs that take shifts. With zip lines going down. Rope and intertwined tree branch make bridges and paths connecting the buildings at different heights. Because of the height of the buildings, there is no way for big animals to be taken up to the higher levels for transportation, so everyone is forced to walk everywhere while in the actual city area. There are roads under the city from building to building for work animals to bring supplies in, but people have to carry the supplies up the buildings.
For workers that live in the city and work out of the city, there is a city provided rideable Ostrich heard that is fed on the border of the city every time the sun hits the horizon. It’s first come first serve, bring your own gear, and you if they are injured on your watched it’s your responsibility to take care of it. There is an intricate system of rain catchers in the canopy of the tree that catches the rainwater for each building the tree supports and stores it in in their own water tank. Plumbing tubing is conducted through bamboo pipes. Excrement goes down to the bottom of the tree to fertilize it and other fruit trees. There are special bridges to avoid going to the bottom of the trees for this reason.
People who live in the city have a variety of jobs the top two working-class jobs that don’t work in city improvements and repairs are fruit pickers and lumberjacks who travel outside the city to work for the day. Newspapers have lemurs with stamps trained to stamp leaves with the news. Cities also house many doctors, vets, diplomats, those to knit life fibers.
Fashion varies depending on which city one lives in, one season it could be lemur tails, the next it could be feather headdresses. But fur and feathers are what those city dwellers are known for so a combination of the two will be a dead give away. The high-class men are clean shaven and get the feathers and furs that are more vibrant in color, but the lower class men wear beards and tend to stick to the cheaper furs and feathers that are darker natural tones.
Country life: The plains is a grand expanse of grass and with the occasional hill. In the plains is where the dog-sized ants and the pangolin roam. Ants are for mining minerals for the heating elemental creatures and eating the waist/cleaning dead animals to the bone(That are located in specific areas away from civilization for safety reasons.). To keep the population of ants down, the south have giant pangolins eat the dog-sized ants. In the towns of the plains area, all homes and businesses are made of pangolin scales. No exceptions. Homes in the plains are spread out from each other about a mile away from each other, except for the suburbs around the towns.
Suburbs have hollowed bone plumbing from the well or river with a handpump but the homes that live farther out need their own wells and outhouses. Because of all the distance everyone has to travel, everyone has some kind of animal of transportation. Only one town out of all the towns in the plains provide chocobo travel and that heard is only 10 chocobo strong. The roads are made of flattened dirt and are wider than the rest of the south’s. The structure of the towns are centered around a water source, usually a well or river. The people of the plains are known as working as ant wranglers, pangolin scale pickers, cow and chocobo ranchers, and caravan drivers. A game that they play is “Hey Mama” Which consists of a rhythmic rhyming scheme for people to follow and add their own verse in.
The fashion of the plains people is straw wide brim hats with a feather sticking out of it, leather braided wrist bands, leather vests with fringe and beads, and leather cowboy boots. The more colorful the leather the higher you paid for it, and probably the more compliments you are going to get.
Costal city life; By the coast there is the city of Coquina that descends down the sloping side of a cliff down to a beach. The cliff side of the city is founded on giant clam shells half eroded out of the cliff side that support houses. The walls and ceilings are made of wood, bone, or pangolin scales. The pricier homes that are on the beach are made of hollowed out shells of giant sea turtles, skeletons of beached whales covered in waterproofed leather, or, in rare cases, giant conch shells. Everyone has imported metal plumbing with toilets leading to the ocean. Drinking water has to be boiled. The roads are made of smooth stone tightly packed together with sun baked mud.
Transportation isn’t reserved for just the trades people, but because it’s so inexpensive to keep a sea creature, most people have to choose sea travel or land travel. There are a variety of taxis to take, but not chocobo serves like in the city. The harbor and marketplace is in between the border of the cliffs and the beach. The dock is made of wood and extends much farther out than a dock of any other nation. The docks have gaits for the sea creature of choice to rest up and eat in and so they don’t wander off into deep water and get eaten by legendary leviathans. The people of the coat live as traders, docks men, fishermen, naval captains, etc.
It is fashionable by the cost to wear excessive amount of pearl necklaces and shell crowns for women, and for men to grow and braid their beard and adorn it with trinkets like ribbons, beads, or small bones.
Naval Fighting: Battle giant sea turtles big enough to hold a crew and that can outmaneuver any boat. Bombs that shoot out shark teeth. Nets made of Jellyfish tentacles(that will need to be handled with special leather gloves). Giant clams that can create and shoot out cannonball sized pearls at high speeds. Shoot a chemical that attract mantis shrimp to the enemy boat (that makes it smell like crab, their favorite food) so they will crack open the ship, even though mantis shrimp live in shallow water, possible spy use. They have an extensive knowledge on sea creatures of the area and what baits to use to call upon them to attack the boats, for example, they cum the waters for large sharks to appear, and shrimping the waters for the giant battle octopus to come and hold the boat. Swords made of bone from swordfish and sawfish.
Army Fighting: Bombs that shoot out porcupine quills. Human armor made of elephant hide. Elephant armor made of pangolin scales. Spies put ant pheromone on enemy food supplies and ants from the south steal it. Dire wolves, wolves, but dire. Swords made of bone from swordfish and sawfish. Compressed air pistols are used sparingly.
Air Force: Genetically modified ravens that eat gunpowder and poop highly volatile combustibles that can be set on fire through simple air friction. Parrots that listen in on the generals and report back with their plans. Falconteres wearing metal claws that swoop down and scratch open arms, and backs, and such of enemy troops.
History: Flourishwick started as just the forrest city and expanded south of its homeland to encompass the pains and coastal area to allow access to its giant shells.
