The fighting system in this roleplay is stat vs stat but you can pick and combine stats that go into each move.
Stats go from 0 to 6 pathetic to olympian labeled as so:
0 pathetic,
1 weak,
2 below average,
3 average,
4 above average,
5 skilled,
6 Olympian.
So if you are going up against someone with Olympic stat strength, and your strength or ability to take a hit is pathetic, you’re going to need to be creative to take this guy down. I’d suggest using your natural know how or technical know how and speed to use the environment against them to up your attack.
In a roleplay battle, the above would look like this.
The large mammoth like hairy man, who most likely is some kind of ape hybrid, but one can’t be too careful not to offend someone these days, hurled back his fist and plunged it forward to squish the punny insect of a man. (strength and speed) (Olympic 6 and below average 1) (7)
The small man’s eyes darted side to side trying to find some way to defend himself. His eyes fell upon the banana he was eating before hand. Knowing that the insides where slippery when force was applied in a direction, he reacted. He threw the banana on the ground where the huge man was about to step and punch him. (speed and nature know how) (average 3 and skilled 5) (8)
Now the small one got his banana down in time this round. The hairy one could do a reaction to that and the small man could do a reaction to that reaction and the roleplay could go on like that. Though I think it shows character to admit defeat. Anyways it’s a fun thinking exercise to try to find more than one strategy to do something.
For now weapons don’t do any stat modifications and are only cosmetic. I don’t want everyone to get bogged down with math to roleplay. If this changes we will do an announcement saying so.
The "Ability to take a hit" stat is mostly reference point for the writer to react to hits. If you can find a use for it in a fight go for it.
